A bit of realism and a whole lot of whimsy!

My creations are inspired by the world around me, interpreted through paper and paint, and infused with playful whimsy.

Each object is lovingly assembled by hand using quality materials so that the resulting keepsake will last for years.

My Process

Here is an overview of what I use for my creations.

The Paper

I use Canson® watercolor paper for my work.* It has just the right rigidity to hold the shapes I create and it is easy to paint with both watercolors and acrylics. In some cases, I can laminate several strips together for extra rigidity.

The Paints

Windsor & Newton® transparent and opaque watercolors are my choice when I'm wanting to use patterning.*  For more solid colors, I go with Golden® acrylics, including their interference colors for a bit of BLAM for some items.*

The Adhesives

For low-stress areas of my objects, I use Golden® mediums.*  For watercolor strips, I go with the matte medium; for acrylics, gloss. For even sturdier adhesion, I use Let's Resin® UV resin adhesive.

Findings & Details

I use a variety of items for the details, including satin and grosgrain ribbon, metal grommets, magnets, resin bits and bobs (some purchased, some self-made), and gold-filled and sterling findings for the earrings.
